INAUGURAL JERNIGAN'S CUP EVENT AT ST. CLAIR COUNTY CLUB

June 28, 2007

In classic Irish tradition, a "wee bit of rain" fell throughout the afternoon of the event. The spirits and competitive drives of the golfers assembled however were not dampened in the slightest. Even a couple of lighting delays failed to thwart the dogged determination of the assembled lot. That said, three foursomes fell behind as a result of their extended enjoyment of the comfort of the Club's Men's Grill during the off course delays. Most teams were in by 6:30 p.m. but Louie Caputo's foursome did not complete their round until around 8:30 p.m. Louie was surprised to learn when he presented himself at Jernigan's around 9:00 p.m. with a wet and soggy score card in hand that the winning teams had been determined and all prizes awarded. Better luck next year Louie.

Golfing in the Irish Tradition

The wet and soggy Klett team (Dave, Ed and Keenan, sans Kirk who was on the Disabled List - ACL repair) finished at 6:30 p.m.

The weather conditions were ideal for the Jernigan's Cup Event. (Note the accumulated water on the fairway).

There's something about smoking a cigar that feels like a celebration. It's like a fine wine. There's a quality, a workmanship, a passion that goes into the smoking of a fine cigar. - Demi Moore
